Join us for our September Chapter meeting.  Candida Arvizu, HR advisor for HR Advantage will be speaking about the always needed Skill; Interviewing.  Putting your best foot forward in an interview is one of the first steps employers take in the employment relationship. Learn to prep for the interview, establish rapport, generate interest in your company, give a realistic job preview, and increase new employee commitment and engagement while avoiding personal biases through structured interviews.  We will also cover some tips for conducting effective remote interviews.

Candida Arvizu, Human Resources Advisor with Human Resource Advantage, has worked in the human resource and consulting field for over 15 years.  Since graduating with a Master of Science in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Missouri State University in 2002, she has enjoyed helping southwest Missouri organizations strategically manage talent through common sense solutions and initiatives. Her areas of expertise include addressing small business challenges, wage and hour law, FMLA administration, training, leadership, and group processes.

She holds the HR certifications SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) and SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resource Management-Certified Professional).

She is involved in several professional organizations, including the Springfield Area Human Resources Association, the Springfield Hotel Lodging Association, Lancaster Society for Human Resource Management, and the Branson Tri-Lakes Human Resources Association.  She has volunteered her time on the Personnel Committee, the Programs Committee, and board of the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Southwest Missouri and was the Governmental Affairs Committee Chair for the Springfield HR Association.

Candida helps solve problems people care about in organizations, through tactical solutions as well as strategic HR planning.
