Join us for our February Program - Hostile Intruder Reponse presented by Devon Sons, Kanakuk Security Manager.
Participants should leave the class with greater confidence in the options available to them during a violent encounter and feel prepared to use the safety tools and strategies they have learned. They should also feel empowered to begin developing stronger situational awareness in their daily lives.
About the Speaker
Devon has spent the past 15 years working in law enforcement after graduating from the Missouri Sheriff’s Academy. During my career, He served in multiple capacities including Dispatcher, Jailer, Court Bailiff, Patrol Officer, School Resource Officer, Field Training Officer, and University Police Officer at Northwest Missouri State University.
Devon is a certified firearms instructor (pistol, rifle, shotgun and active shooter) and has trained numerous law enforcement officers in firearms proficiency and active shooter response. Drawing on this experience, he also provides training to schools, churches, hospitals, banks, businesses, and community organizations on active shooter response, situational awareness, women’s self defense, and concealed carry. For the past six years, he has been heavily involved in Crisis Intervention Training (CIT), helping law enforcement and first responders respond more effectively to individuals experiencing mental or behavioral health crises. He also trained in Peer Support and have assisted first responders dealing with job related critical incidents, both individually and in group settings.
