    Laura Laramore- Employer Relations/Engagement Specialist at State of Missouri will be presenting on Workforce Solutions offered through the Missouri Job Center. Employer Relations and Engagement Team provides a variety of valuable services to Missouri employers. This team assists employers with finding talented employees, upskilling their current workforce, organizing hiring events and many more services. Laura will present on employer services offered through Missouri Job Centers and providing education on Employer Transition services. Information will also be provided about Trade Adjustment Assistance Program and current online training initiatives

    Jackie Jenkins will be presenting on MO Vocational Rehabilitation services.    MO Vocational Rehabilitation (MVR) services help eligible people with disabilities obtain, maintain, or advance in employment.  Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) has trained counselors who work with individuals to assist them in developing a vocational goal which leads to employment.  Jackie serves as the Business Specialist for the SW Missouri region covering 24 counties.  As a Business Specialist, she works closely with the vocational rehabilitation counselors (VRC) to support these individuals by connecting them with employers who are seeking employees.  MVR has access to a large pool of job seekers, and these job seekers are at different levels from On-The -Job Training (OJT) to individuals with master’s degree and beyond.  

    Jackie is a retired career and technical education school teacher and administrator.  She began her role with MVR on July 1.  Jackie is also an adjunct instructor for the University of Central Missouri in the School of Professional Education & Leadership.

    Laura is part of the state wide Employer Relations and Engagement Team with the Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development. As an Employer Relations and Engagement Specialist, Laura connects with community resources and business services in the Southwest Region to partner and educate citizens about Missouri Job Center resources. She has over 14 years of experience in the workforce development field. Laura received her undergraduate from Missouri Southern State University in Joplin with a Bachelor’s Degree, emphases in Criminal Justice 2001 and in 2020 obtained her MBA from Pittsburg State University with an emphases in Human Resource.
